Bloomfield, NJ - Bloomfield College of Montclair State University Esports steps into the Tekken ring for the first time. Tekken is a Japanese media franchise centered on fighting games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment that was first released in 1994. This is the 8th iteration of the game and Bloomfield has been participating in the ECAC conference since the title was added to the program in 2024.

Adding Tekken to the program opens up more opportunities for not only the players, but also students seeking to join a game title that wasn't previously available. Esports is constantly growing and with the addition of Tekken it lets students and colleges showcase their variety of students.

One student competing in Tekken is Vuisaul Hardy, a senior majoring in Game Design and also  captain on the Fall and Spring CACC champion Super Smash Bros Ultimate roster. He currently sits at a record of 3-1 making a strong contention as he pushes for a strong playoff position.

Tekken 8 has joined Super Smash Bros and NBA 2K as current in season titles with other titles such as Marvel Rivals, and Rocket League currently in works of being ready for the Spring of 2026.
